February was a busy old month as ever. The first thing we did was host our first Pop Up of 2016! 32 hungry diners joined us for a 5 course Valentine’s inspired feast at Wine Bear; a FABULOUS wine shop, bar & café located just off Chipping Norton’s High Street. Owner Richard did a fantastic job of wine matching to our scrumptious menu, which included 10 Hour Slow Cooked Pigs Cheek with Celeriac & Jus and Rhubarb Custard Tart with Clotted Cream.
Chef Ross W had very limited room to work in, but in true Ross & Ross style we all pulled together as a team to make the most of what we had!
There’s not long to go until our next Pop Up at the absolutely AMAZING Stratford Antiques and Interiors. To be held on St Patrick’s day (17th March) we’ll have the luck of the Irish making sure the event is another successful one! Click here to see what scrumptious goodies our diners will be treated to! There’s only a few tickets left so hurry and book your place before we’re all sold out.
We also returned to a venue we haven’t visited for quite a while this month – Cat’s Abbey.
Another of the Cotswolds’ hidden gems, Cats Abbey is a converted barn with accommodation for up to 36. This particular event was a new one for us at Ross & Ross – a Murder Mystery Dinner! In between each of our yummy courses, actors from Blackwatch Entertainment played out scenes with vital clues for our guests to use to work out whodunit! With some spectacular “deaths”, impressive costumes and various theories, eventually the killer was identified, and the winning team received a chocolate gift.
Are you ready to feel hungry? Our lovely guests were treated to a selection of our Signature Prawn Cocktail, Confit Pressed Pork Shoulder & Crispy Egg or Cheese & Spinach Soufflé for their starters. Mains included 10-Hour Slow Cooked Shoulder of Lamb or Cod with Fondant Potatoes and Tender Stem Broccoli, whilst for dessert, Chocolate Delice, Treacle Tart or Eton Mess rounded the meal off perfectly. As our small party pre-ordered their dishes we were able to provide more of a variety for the evening, which we like!
In our few moments back at the office, we spent February busily planning the next few months ahead – wedding season will be here before we know it! If you would like us to cater for your special event, Becca would love to hear from you on events@rossandrossfood.co.uk.
