You are currently viewing Real Wedding – Yvonne & Tim

We’re back and welcoming the return of Real Weddings here on the blog! Real weddings of real couples that we had the absolute pleasure of catering for this year.

In early April, the lovely Yvonne and Tim tied the knot at Chipping Norton Church and continued the celebrations at the stunning Caswell House. We caught up with the couple recently to get all the details on their wedding day.

HOW DID YOU GUYS MEET?

We met at the University of Birmingham, both studying sports and exercise science.

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE CASWELL HOUSE AS YOUR VENUE?

I grew up in the Cotswolds and wanted the ‘Cotswold barn look’ and Caswell house was by far the most stunning location we viewed! – We totally agree!

WHAT MADE YOU CHOOSE ROSS & ROSS AS YOUR CATERERS?

At the time Ross & Ross were in only caterers available at Caswell house. However, when trying their menu during our complementary tasting session we were beyond satisfied and had many great remarks from our guests.

WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR CHOSEN MENU?

We fancied the sharing board with side salads to cater to a wider selection of guests and were not disappointed! It made selecting pudding a lot easier when you could have three options.

WHAT WERE YOUR FAVOURITE PARTS OF YOUR MENU?

The lamb and beef were cooked to perfection. The ham station was also a huge hit!

WHAT ADVISE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER COUPLES WHEN PLANNING THEIR WEDDING CATERING?

It’s important to choose a menu that you are going to enjoy as it’s your special day – A key piece of advice in our eyes, be selfish, choose what you love!

WHAT WAS ON THE MENU?

Kicking off the drink’s reception with an Iberico Ham Station, an interactive canape station where chefs carve the leg of Spanish ham to order. Accompanied by some circulated canapes of Balsamic & Pesto Pastry Tarts and Spiced Charcoal Cauliflower Fritters – both veggie, but full of flavour!

For the main feast they dined on BBQ Sharing Boards, featuring our 12-hour Slow Smoked Shoulder of Lamb & Salsa Verde and 10-Hour Roasted Blade of Beef & Romesco Sauce – delicious chunks of meat that melt in your mouth. Scottish Banana Leaf Wrapped Salmon & Charred Lemon and Aubergine Steaks & Miso Glaze, both simple and staple options to add a bit of variety.

Sharing bowls of Roasted New Potatoes with Spiced Citrus Butter, Greek Salad and Charred Tender stem Broccoli, Cauliflower, Yuzu Sesame Seeds & Black Garlic Dressing also made their way round the tables, to complement their chosen mains. Offering something both warm and light, for guests to help themselves to.

To continue the sharing theme, they chose Sharing Slates of desserts to each table too. Their choices being Lemon Tart with Fresh Raspberries, Banoffee Pie and Chocolate Gateau – something for everyone.

For a late-night snack after a lot of dancing, they opted for French Dip Rolls and Chicken, Waffles & Maple Syrup, both nice and stodgy to soak up they days’ worth of drinking!
